Traveling for medical is not a vacation and its an insult to even suggest or joke about it. Well I just cleaned up puke from my son because the drugs they use to put him to sleep during his scans and bone marrow drilling is wearing off and he says his bone marrow extractions hurt. I do not want to travel and am tiered of my wife having to travel so far to find the latest treatment options. only 40% of children with neuroblastoma live to age 13. Some really self-centered piece of shit people out…Continue

Know How To Avoid Target Fixation

    avoid target fixation

“Look where you want to go.” Even a beginning rider course should teach you that, and it’s sound advice no matter how much experience you gain. The bike is going to go where you’re looking. If there’s a pothole or debris in front of you, or a car pulls out, or an animal runs into your path, don’t look directly at it—look for a way out, where you want to go.

    Busted belts

Posted by Charles Kendall on May 9, 2014 at 11:39am 0 Comments

A busted belt threw a wrench into things. After work on our 2004 Harley Sportster 1200 Custom project started so well, momentum came to a screeching halt after our 10-year-old belt snapped and flew about 25 feet from our bike when we dropped it into gear. Fortunately, we were in our driveway when it happened, so we didn’t get stuck like Chuck with no luck.

    But the news…

    More motorcyclists on the roads

Posted by Charles Kendall on May 7, 2014 at 11:50am 0 Comments

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — More motorcyclists on the roads, means an increase in vehicular accidents.

FOX 4 spoke to two motorcycle operators who were involved in accidents that sent them to the hospital and are now urging all of us to drive carefully.

With temperatures on the rise many people are hitting the roads on two wheels instead of four. May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness month and safety experts are urging you to drive with caution.

Bikers stop traffic on I-70 for tricks, police make multiple arrests

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Traffic in all lanes was stopped on the busy Interstate 70 on Sunday, and all because a group of bikers wanted to do some tricks they could film and post on the Internet.

Police made multiple arrests in the incident.

A FOX 4 News crew happened to come up right behind the bikers heading east bound on I-70.  They said before they…

    Keeping Cool This Summer...............

Posted by Charles Kendall on April 2, 2014 at 8:27am 0 Comments

When you're behind the wheel of a car, beating the heat usually just means turning on the air conditioner. But when you're straddling a motorcycle, staying cool centers on adequate hydration and the right equipment.

The body increases its respiratory rate and releases sweat to regulate its core temperature. Motorcyclists traveling long distances are at risk of dehydration -- the depletion of bodily fluids -- and heatstroke -- a heat-related condition characterized by muscle cramps,…

    Tip of the day

Posted by Charles Kendall on March 31, 2014 at 9:37am 0 Comments

IF YOU WANT to avoid knackering your bike's sprockets, prematurely wearing the gearbox bearings and avoid preventing the rear suspension from working properly then make sure your chain's correctly adjusted.

For best results, adjust the chain with enough free play to allow for the rider's weight and a pillion, as any slack usually disappears once the rider's on board. It's worth re-checking the tension again with a mate sat on the bike.

Check the chain tension at several points…
